MESSY TOP KNOT TUTORIAL, top knot, hair tutorial, top knot tutorial, boone and owl, Boone + Owl

Messy top knots are a go-to for me when I'm pressed for time, or even just when I want something a little playful and different. I have thin hair so perfect ponytails are a bit lackluster on me. The end of the ponytail just looks sad and lonely. Luckily, my hair is out of its mind and curls up like it belongs on a poodle, when I let it air dry. A little salt spray on the ends gives it some texture and makes a messy ton knot possible! For my fellow thick hair challenged girls, buy yourself some salt spray. It will enhance your life.. and your thin hair.

When I top knot my hair I secure it with 3 to 7 bobby pins. I know that's a leap, but if you want to rock this while being a gym rat ( doth thou even hoist? ), you're going to want those four extra bobby pins. It will stay!

All you need for the perfect messy top knot:

Salt Spray
A Hair Elastic
Bobby Pins

Spray the ends of your hair with salt spray and scrunch. Pull hair up like you would a high ponytail, and twist into a tight bun. Three twists keeps this top knot in place. Tug on the ends of your hair that make the bun, to loosen the bun up a bit, and then fasten as desired with bobby pins. Add a little more salt spray for texture and you're good to go!

Use image gadget in blogger without required title

If you're one of those bloggers that likes to play around with the design of your blog yourself, you're probably familiar with the required title in the blogger image gadget. It's quite simply a nuisance. I am here to show you how to use the image gadget in blogger without the required title! It's so simple, and it will change your life for the better.

For the longest time I had a dotted cap line over my about me or welcome image on my sidebar. It was the best solution to the required title in blogger's image gadget. I've learned a lot of little tricks through many hours of playing with my blog's design. Out of everything that I've learned, this little trick is probably my favorite. So much stress relieved with something so simple. The frustration is real. I know you know what I'm talking about with this blasted gadget.

Now I have since removed the image gadget altogether and replaced it with a HTML/JavaScript gadget to display my sidebar image and text. But, if you're using Blogger's image gadget this is super helpful. The code below is not the most commonly used, but it is the only one that works ( for me ) without any glitches. No glitches is everything in blogland!

So, you simply add the image gadget and use the following code in the title space. Save and revel in the beauty of a title free image.

20 RANDOM FACTS ABOUT LITTLE OLE ME

20 RANDOM FACTS ABOUT LITTLE OLE ME

boone and owl, 20 random facts, blogger facts

About two weeks ago I was tagged/challenged on Instagram, by the beautiful Kristen from Treats and Travels, to share 20 random facts about myself. I have a love/hate relationship with challenges like this because I'm rather a boring person and 20 random facts about me are not thought of easily. I do love a challenge though!

I've been racking my brain, as I sit here deathly ill with the flu, to come up with 20 facts. 20 little bits of informative, potentially amusing, and useless bits of information. Without further ado, here are 20 random things that you may or may not know about me!

________ 20 RANDOM FACTS ABOUT LITTLE OLE ME ________

1. I can do a wicked accurate impression of Yoda. ( Nerdy + mildy impressive, right? )

2. I am terrible at initiating communication when it comes to calls and texts. If you want to talk to me send up a smoke signal, break down my front door, rapid fire my phone with emojis. Anything to get my attention. I'm in the conversation for the long haul after that!

3. For no particularly explainable reason, I dream of visiting Colorado someday. It's on the bucket list.

4. I love memes. My best friend, Llana, knows this all too well. I even make my own memes. During finals week, I post one meme a day that pertains to finals and attach an essay of witty explanation of it, to Llana's timeline. ( Hey Llana.. MEMEs ).

5. I am in fact a smidge Italian. Though my alabaster skin and green eyes provide no proof of that truth.

6. I am burn the house down terrified of spiders.

7. Every single one of my eyelashes fell out on my left eye once. A portion of my eyelashes actually still fall out every few months or so. I have no idea why.

8. I am the baby of the family. Even all of my cousins are older than me.

9. I really love swirling peanut butter in my ice cream. It's too delectable to put into words.

10. I really can't stand chick flicks ( shock and horror ). Pride and Prejudice I must exclude from this.

11. I can do a fantastically dramatic rendition of Let It Go.

12. I am an Equestrian and have been riding horses since I was seven.

13. I broke my finger with a milk carton about a year and a half ago. A milk carton. How does something like that even happen?

14. I'm a bit of a gym rat, and I once burst numerous capillaries lifting too much weight.

15. My hair is naturally curly. I'm talking poodle curly. It's rather unruly.

16. I took two years of Spanish and remember nothing! But I can speak a little Russian.

17. I sustained a severe concussion, in a horseback riding accident, a little over a year ago. It took almost the whole year for me to be fit to fight again.

18. About four years ago my hair was accidentally turned burgundy, then turned burnt orange when it was stripped to correct it. If I ever had a desire to be a red head, it vanished after that.

19. I traveled to Israel a few years ago, with a group from my church, and it was one of the best experiences of my life.

20. I have a penchant for smuggling food into the movie theater. Tater Tots, Pizza, and Blizzards from Dairy Queen being favorites.

I'm quite surprised to say that I didn't struggle as much as I thought I would to come up with some pretty random facts. It was still no walk in the park. Challenge accepted and successfully executed! Now you know a little more about me. And if we ever go to the movies together I will happily smuggle in your favorite snack!

I'm passing the challenge on! What are 20 random facts about you? I 'd love to hear them!
